Money Matters

Just like any household, we have to manage our money carefully. Most of our income comes from the rent you pay, so we make sure it’s used wisely - reinvesting it into improving your homes, supporting local neighbourhoods and delivering the services you rely on.
To make your rent go further, we work hard to get the best value in everything we do. That includes negotiating contracts, reviewing costs, and choosing local suppliers wherever possible - helping to support jobs and businesses in your communities while still ensuring that your rent delivers real value for money.

The rent you pay ensures that we can look after your home - covering day-to-day repairs and funding long term improvements like new bathrooms, kitchens, and energy-efficient boilers. It also supports vital services such as our Wellbeing Fund and Successful Tenancies team, who provide help with employment, money, and benefits when you need it most.
Even though times continue to be challenging, by making sure you could access the right support at the right time, two of our three income collections were well under the target levels we were aiming for. We work to stay within these levels to make sure arrears don’t build up. While one area went slightly over, overall arrears remained at a manageable level at the end of the year.
Managing Our IncomeÂ
We believe in being open and transparent about how we operate. By sharing information on our directors’ remuneration (salaries and benefits), we aim to give you a clear view of how leadership costs relate to the size of our organisation and the homes we manage.

The cost-of-living crisis has continued to affect a huge number of customers and although we have seen inflation slow, prices remain high, which has made it hard for some low-income households to manage.Â
Our Successful Tenancies team has offered specialist support and helped many customers manage their household budgets, claim further benefits and grants and learn new employment skills. Â
