This enables our customers to enjoy a lifestyle centred on wellbeing, connection, and peace of mind - with fewer worries, more opportunities to reduce social isolation and the freedom to live life to the full.

By January 2027, the UK’s national digital switchover will see all analogue phone lines switched off and replaced with fibre technology to deliver more reliable and efficient services.

In preparation for this change, we've been working on a project to upgrade all pull cord alarm systems in our retirement housing. These systems, which currently rely on analogue phone lines, are being replaced with modern digital alternatives to ensure there is no disruption to service and that our customers continue to feel safe and supported.

Clarence Park Village in Malvern celebrated its 10-year anniversary in June 2024 with residents, families, and local partners.

The day featured choirs, Morris dancers, garden games, and a display of the village’s milestones, while also raising funds for the Guide Dogs charity.

Sarah Sutton, Director of New Customers and Specialist Housing, called it “a wonderful day celebrating the 10 years since Clarence Park opened its doors,” reflecting the thriving community that has grown there.

Residents Raise Funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation

In the summer of 2024, residents of Wintern Court in Gainsborough and Rooks Close in Saxilby joined forces to host a charity lunch, raising £421 for the Make‑A‑Wish Foundation.

The collaboration grew from a simple outreach by a Wintern Court representative to Brenda Coles at Rooks Close, resulting in an event described by Platform’s Community Engagement Manager, Chris Pinson‑Bradley, as both “heartwarming and humbling.”

Brenda praised the “special friendship and bond” that emerged between the communities and thanked everyone involved, while expressing eagerness to host future events together.

For the past 13 years, we’ve been proud to deliver a dedicated Falls Response Service in Worcestershire on behalf of the NHS.

When someone experiences a non-injury fall, our caring team – equipped with specialist lifting equipment – can safely help them back to their feet with dignity and reassurance. By responding quickly, we not only support individuals in their homes but also ease pressure on the busy ambulance service.

Since November 2023, we’ve also supported the NHS Winter Pressures Pilot, responding to referrals from ambulance crews and community nursing teams, so people get the help they need sooner.

“Please pass on my thanks to the Falls Team for all the amazing help with my husband. I am extremely grateful.”

Alongside urgent response, we work closely with local partners – including NHS Neighbourhood Teams, Worcestershire County Council, and Taking Care (part of AXA Health) – to prevent future falls, promote independence, and help people live safely at home.
